Ramakrishnananda Yoga Vedanta Mission - Yoga Union with Reality Retreat

Dear participants,

Thank you for taking part in the "Yoga - Union with Reality" retreat. We are looking forward to seeing you soon and wishing you a wonderful experience. There are a few things that we have outlined below to help making your experience even more enjoyable.

What to bring?

  »  Comfortable clothes for practice
  »  Walking shoes
  »  Alarm clock
  »  Towel/wash cloth
  »  Insect repellant
  »  Clothes for cooler weather

Participation in the introductory lecture, which takes place on Friday at 9:00pm, is highly recommended, as it adds a clear outlook of the whole experience, and portrays the guidlines and our recommendations to fully enjoy the retreat.

** For one day participants, it is highly recommended to arrive as early as possible. Upon arrival, please come and register before attending any of the activities.

The meals served in the retreat are dairy and vegetarian (no eggs).
Please notify us in advance if you have any food allergies such as soy, dairy, nuts, seeds, etc.

Since there is no cell phone reception in this area, there is a dedicated phone line you can use if needed. In case you need to receive phone calls, the number of the premises is (845) 586-3225.

Car Pooling

We are organizing transportation which will be leaving from the Ashram (96 Avenue B., NY.) on Friday, July 11th at 2:00pm. It will be returning to the Ashram on Sunday, after the retreat has ended. Please let us know in advance if you will need a ride. (Either to or back from retreat).

Driving Directions From New York City

Take I-87 North (the thruway) for 96 miles to Kingston, exit 19. This is a toll way, so be prepared to pay a toll.

From Exit 19, go West on Highway 28 (the first right off the traffic circle) towards Pine Hill and Woodstock. This is approximately 58 miles to the Blue Deer Center where the retreat is held.

You will know you are getting close when Highway 28 begins to go through Fleischman’s, Arkville, and then past a 'Hess' gas station and the entrance to Margaretville (you will see a flashing yellow light overhead).

Continue driving on this road for about 5 miles (you will pass a sign for the State Police and when the road begins to curve and the speed limit slows to 35, you are getting very close to the turn).

You will see a blue sign for Route 6, and a green sign for New Kingston Road. Turn right. The location is approximately 1 mile up on the left after the turn for the Homestead Farmstate.

You will see a sign for the Blue Deer Center and a driveway marked on both sides by large stone pillars. Turn left into the driveway and follow it to the Main House at the end.
